DURHAM – Bull City Venture Partners is looking to raise $50 million for a new venture capital fund.

The news was disclosed in a securities filing.

Based in Durham, the firm launched by partners Jason Caplain and David Jones focuses on software and internet investments ranging from $250,000 to $2 million.

Asked about the fund, Caplain replied:

“No comment, per advice from counsel.”

Other members of the team include Sarah Leners, Senior Associate, and Mahati Sridhar, Associate.

The firm made two investments in August.

BCVP raised $26 million in 2014 with investors including Cisco and Red Hat.
