RALEIGH – Companies across North Carolina continue to look for high-tech talent, a new report finds.
More than 27,000 jobs were available in August – nearly the same as in July – says the trade group NC Technology Association in its monthly Tech Talent Trends Alert.
“After declining sharply in the early months of COVID-19, North Carolina IT job openings began to track upward over the summer,” said Brooks Raiford, CEO of NC TECH, in a statement. “August openings held relatively even with July, so we’ll be interested to see whether the upward trajectory resumes in September,” he added.
Openings have surged more than 5,000 from a COVID-19 pandemic low of 22,500 in May.

However, openings were down nearly 2,000 from August 2019, with positions falling in the Triangle and Charlotte.
