RALEIGH — Cloud tech startup Pureport has tapped one of Red Hat’s top engineers to be its new chief technology officer.
Peter Sprygada has joined the Raleigh-based firm’s executive team after serving more than four years as Red Hat’s distinguished engineer where he was chief architect for the Ansible Automation Platform.
Prior to Red Hat, Sprygada held senior technical and leadership positions at both Arista and Cisco, as well as a number of networking startups.

“As Pureport continues to revolutionize the way organizations connect to the cloud, Peter’s ability to transform network operations through automation, orchestration, and seamless customer experiences will help us drive new standards in this market, and continue to position our platform as the leader in frictionless multicloud networking.”
At Pureport, Sprygada will be responsible for “all product strategy, engineering, and technical delivery of Pureport’s Multicloud Fabric platform.”

Founded in 2018, Pureport is the brainchild of two well-known names in the Triangle’s tech ecosystem, Matt Berry and Rich Lee.
Both men teamed up to launched the starup after selling previous ventures, though Berry is no longer with the company, according to Pureport’s chief marketing officer Billy Purser.
Through the firm’s patented hybrid cloud software platform, it offers 1,2, 5 or 10 Gbps (gigabits per second) of connectivity to link clients to Amazon Web Services Direct Connect (AWS), and other public cloud providers.
