CARY – Maxime Beland, a former top game development executive for the Tom Clancy franchise at Ubisoft, is returning to that company after less than a year at Epic Games.
So say reports in news sites that cover the video games industry.
Ubisoft has a major presence in the Triangle where its Red Storm Entertainment group is based. The Clancy Spinter Cell games are developed in part in the Triangle.
Beland joined Epic after some two decades at Ubisoft to become a creative director at Epic, the developer of the Fortnite franchise.
Beland’s return could be significant for Ubisoft.
“The return of such an important developer could mean that a new game is being planned for PS5 and Xbox Series X,” reports GameRant.
Beland’s return was first reported by Video Games Chronicle.
