GREENSBORO – Qorvo has acquired Cavendish Kinetics, Inc., a provider of high performance antenna tuning technology.

The acquisition will allow Qorvo to apply Cavendish’s technology across its product lines and develop it into high-volume manufacturing for mobile devices. Qorvo says Cavendish’s devices offer potential for improving 4G and 5G system performance.

Qorvo has been a strategic investor in Cavendish since 2015 and will provide more details about the transition in its fiscal 2020 second quarter earnings call.

“The addition of Cavendish Kinetics allows us to build on Qorvo’s market leadership in antenna tuning,” said Eric Creviston, president of Qorvo Mobile Products. “Qorvo will build on the great work CK has done by optimizing and scaling the technology and applying it to other applications like infrastructure and defense.”

Qorvo is a provider of radio frequency solutions. Qorvo shares were trading at $72.85 Tuesday, down $1.11.
