RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Alex Arfaei, a former managing director with BMO Capital Markets, has joined an expanding Pappas Ventures as a partner

At BMO, Arfaei was an equity research analyst focusing on pharmaceutical and biotech firms. Pappas is tasking him to help “identify and evaluate investment opportunities.” He previously worked at FBR Capital Markets, Endo Pharmaceuticals and Merck. Arfaei earned an MBA at Duke University.

Pappas only invests in life science companies.
