RALEIGH – Demand for software developers, especially with certifications in Java, remains strong across North Carolina even as overall open high tech job openings are falling, a new report shows.

The IT Job trends Report for July from the N.C. Technology Association shows that 6,194 jobs are available in software development. That is up 16 percent year-over-year and is only slightly below the 6,200 listed in June.

Java-related skills tops the hardest-to-find skills and certifications at more than 5,400 last month.
