Fortnite offering $1M in prize pool for first Xbox event

CARY – Fortnite is putting on a tournament this weekend just for Xbox players – a first for the global gaming phenomenon. And the prize tool adds up to $1 million.

“Unlike the World Cup, this event will be strictly Solos grouping.,” notes The Sprting News.

“This event is unique because Epic Games’ previous events have all mostly catered to the PC gamers.”

The tournament runs Saturday and Sunday.

Fortnite was created by Cary-based Epic Games and has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.
