DURHAMWeWork is upping the ante after recently opening its doors to a second location in the Bull City.

Called Durham.ID (short for Innovation District), it’s located within one of the two newly built buildings at 200 and 300 Morris Street. Duke Clinical Research Institute is leasing out the other building.

Its opening marks the launch of Durham’s new “Innovation District,” the brainchild of project developer Longfellow Real Estate Partners. Ultimately, the plan is to build out a 15-plus-acre campus that will add 900,000 square feet of office and lab space in downtown Durham.

WeWork recently invited WRAL TechWire to take a tour of the premises – all 80,000 square-feet spread across three floors (although the fifth floor is still under construction).

The space boasts three kitchens (complete with tapped beer and kombucha), 260 private offices, conference rooms and open workspaces. The style is a cross between boho chic and midcentury modern, with some touches of industrial.

The space is also expected to house WeWork Labs, the company’s innovation arm supporting early-stage startups through their journey – from ideation to post-accelerator.

A private office already being occupied.

Of course, it all comes at a price.

Hot desks in the common area start at around $310 per month. Private offices start at around $610 per month.
