RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – The votes are in via Airbnb customers for the top “wish-listed” places to stay across North Carolina with the top 20 properties representing a mix of tiny and tall, remote and urban. Even a converted bus.

From a very small home in Orange County to a towering beachfront residence on the coast, the most highly rated properties are where Airbnb say tens of thousands of users want to visit in the future, the rental service announced Monday.

The list represents the hospitality company’s top 20 counties in the state. The rankings for its growing statewide business are based on the Airbnb “wish-list” function that allows users to compile most desired destinations for future visits.

Number of Airbnb guests soars, taxes hit $24M as Raleigh cracks down

“The top listings vary widely in size and scope, but occasionally they cross over in a memorable way,” Airbnb says in a blog post. “Brandon’s Charming Tiny House at Wildwoods Community Farm (number one in Chapel Hill) is a 128 sq. ft. tiny home that sits on a four acre farm, with the mission of educating guests on sustainable living.”

Then there is the “Cozy School Bus,” the top spot in Cleveland County

Here are the top sites in each county:
