RALEIGH – If you are a software developer or a computer systems engineer/architect,  then many employers in North Carolina want you.

Data from the North Carolina Technology Association’s latest IT jobs report shows that demand for these two areas of skills have skyrocketed more than 70 percent from March 2018.

Right behind at 69 percent is demand for computer plus information systems managers.

Leading the way in raw numbers is job openings for software developers at nearly 8,000 among the some 31,000 posted IT openings last month. Overall, job openings have surged some 40 percent.

  • Computer Systems Engineers/Architects: 2,393 +70.3%
  • Information Security Analysts: 2,173 +8.7%
  • Computer + Information Systems Managers: 1,917 +69.0%
  • Web Developers: 1,777 +36.6%
  • Software Quality Assurance Engineers:1,192 +43.8%
