RALEIGH – A look inside the latest information technology jobs report from the NC Technology Association shows that demand for talent continues to be robust on most of the state’s metro areas. Plus, a variety of firms – not just high tech – are continuing to hire.

Durham-Chapel Hill leads the state in open jobs with more than 3,800. That’s up a whopping 66 percent from a year ago.

In Raleigh, there are more openings – 8,800 plus – but demand isn’t up as high in terms of percentage. Still, at nearly 50 percent competition is fierce.

Demand is up sharply as well in the Charlotte area year-over-year at 38.5 percent with 9,545 advertised openings.

Only in Fayetteville are openings down (4.9 percent).
