DURHAM – Scientific teams have a “golden” opportunity for recognition Thursday during LaunchBio’s Larger Than Life Science, the monthly networking event held from 4-7 p.m. at the Chesterfield building in downtown Durham.
Eppendorf challenges teams of four to compete at the Pipette Olympics, a fun opportunity to demonstrate lab skills and learn a few things about equipment and techniques.
Teams will compete in 4 categories:
- Long Distance: Use your endurance and precision to fill every single well in a 96 well plate!
- Archery: Test your accuracy by using your pipetting technique to hit the bullseye!
- Relay: Fill a column of wells with different colored water – bonus points for speed and neatness!
- Swimming. Fill the outer moat and inner chamber! Get your ”swimmer” down and back first!
And in the individual competition category – Beat the Robot! Can you prevail over the machine for speed and accuracy?
The winning teams will be recognized in a special ceremony starting at 6:45 p.m.
