Cisco Systems Inc. said it is acquiring July Systems Inc., a Burlingame, California-based mobile experience and location services firm. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
July Systems says it is “On a mission to digitize physical spaces” with its cloud platform, Proximity MX.
Cisco said July Systems provides an enterprise-grade location platform and will bolster Cisco’s enterprise Wi-Fi platform to enable superior indoor location services.
In a blog post announcing the acquisition, Cisco also said it “Supports our journey to intent-based networking, a fundamentally new way of building and managing networks for the digital era.”
July Systems will join Cisco’s Enterprise Networking Group.
The acquisition is expected to complete in the first quarter of its fiscal year 2019.
Cisco has one of its largest campuses in Research Triangle Park.
