RALEIGH – Dave O’Donnell, chief executive officer of Bulk TV & Internet, is getting a lot more responsibility now that the Raleigh firm has been acquired by Marlin Equity Partners. He’s the CEO of the combined firm that Marlin has formed from three companies.

On Monday, Marlin and Bulk TV announced the acquisition of Bulk TV as well as a merger with DCI Design Communications. The two are being combined with EthoStream, which was acquired by DCI just over a year ago. Marlin is based in Los Angeles and London.

Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

Bulk TV has been a member of the Inc. 5000 in the past, reporting 2016 revenues of more than $86 million. The firm has some 150 workers.

“With Marlin as our partner, we have the financial support to execute on key strategic initiatives and the ability to leverage their expertise and resources to reach our next level of growth. Uniting Bulk TV and DCI positions us to become the leading triple-play provider for the hospitality and healthcare sectors,” O’Connell said in a statement.

The three firms offer what Marlin describes as a “true triple-play offering for converged video, data and voice solutions for the hospitality and healthcare industries” with customers representing thousands of properties across the country.

“DCI and Bulk TV are incredibly complementary in their capabilities and this merger, a major win for both the hospitality technology industry and its customers, raises the bar for what should be expected from a network service provider,” said Charbel Zreik, CEO of DCI. “Combining our product portfolios and resources allows us to maximize our capabilities and invest further in innovations that ensure our customers have access to the best connectivity solutions and 24×7 services available.”

Bulk TV focuses on designing, engineering, installing and supporting a variety of satellite and Internet Protocol systems for entertainment solutions.
