RALEIGH – WRAL-TV, a leader in development and deployment of cutting-edge broadcasting technology, will unveil Next Generation TV at the Triangle Startup Social on Feb. 19.

WRAL, which was the first commercial high-definition and an early leader in development of 4K, is teaming with the National Association of BroadcastersWRAL-TV and NBC Universal to showcase “Next Gen” TV built around the Winter Olympics, which begin on Thursday.

This new technology provides stunning pictures, immersive sound and interactive features to enhance the broadcast TV experience for viewers. This live public Olympics demonstration is another industry first for WRAL, which was first in the nation to broadcast a Next Gen TV simulcast in June 2016.​​

The Startup Social is set for 6-8 p.m. at The State Club in Raleigh. Tickets are available.

The Triangle Startup Social is a monthly gathering with a mission; to foster a “sales-free” environment for startups to build connections, share their stories, and grow their teams. These monthly events are presented by Big Top, a jobs platform, and WRAL TechWire. Both are owned by Capitol Broadcasting, which also operates WRAL-TV.
