CARY – Epic Games on Friday disclosed its decision to shut down its Paragon, an multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) title, setting off a firestorm of criticism from fans.

The game’s servers will be shut down April 26. Epic is offering refunds to players who made purchases linked to the game.
“We didn’t execute well enough to deliver on the promise of Paragon,” Epic said in the announcement.
“We have failed you — despite the team’s incredibly hard work — and we’re sorry.”
Epic recently said it planned to shift more resources to support its wildly popular Fortnite game.
