Spectrum Corp. in partnership with BCDC breaks ground on a six-story office building overlooking Symphony Lake in Cary at a ceremony Wednesday afternoon with business and economic leaders offering details on the development.

Anchor tenants of the 150,000-square -foot building are specialized pharmaceutical firm Chiesi USA and Black & Veatch, the engineering and construction company that specializes in infrastructure development for power, oil, gas, telecommunications, government, mining, data centers, small cities and financial markets.Black & Veatch is the 10th largest majority Employee-Owned company in the United States.

The new office building is the first development on the 17-acre Regency Woods II site, adjacent to hotels,housing, retail and entertainment venues. It is just off Route 64 near I-440, I-540, the Raleigh-Durham Airport and Research Triangle Park. Construction is set to begin this fall and completion is expected by the fourth quarter, 2018.

Specturm executives, Cary Town Counil officials and a Chiesi USA corporate development executive will speak at the 3 p.m. ceremony at 200 Regency Woods Place, Cary.
