Morrisville-based Etix, which develops ticketing software, has acquired Texas-based event ticketing company ExtremeTix.Financial details were not disclosed.

Etix has grown steadily since its inception in 2000, selling more than 50 million ticketsover 40 countries each year.Etix provides flexible and secure ticketing solutions, digital marketing services, and robust e-commerce fulfillment.

Etix has offices in Austria, China, Germany, Holland and Japan, as well as a full-service digital marketing agency in Morrisville, NC.

ExtremeTix has established itself as a leader in motorsports, rodeo, festival, and other special events ticketing. The platform won the “Move to Mobile” award at the 2017 Ticketing Technology Awards in Dublin, Ireland earlier this year.

The acquisition not only brings opportunities in new verticals, but also gives Etix a wider presence across the United States, Etix said.
