Raleigh app software developer lands $5.3M in oversubscribed round, is hiring

Dropsource, an emerging entrepreneurial software company in Raleigh, is hiring, having closed on $5.3 million in new capital.

“[A]ngel investors located across the US” participated in the round, a spokesperson tells WRAL TechWire.

In fact, interest was so high, the company raised $300,000 more than its target.

Dropsource “raised now to fuel expansion,” the spokesperson added. And the agenda is aggressive.

“We’re expanding our product offerings, expanding the team, entering new markets, and continuing to demonstrate extraordinary value for our community and customers,” he says.

Formerly known as Queue Software, the company says it plans to hire six people with a target headcount of 20 before the end of next year.

“Paying customers”

Dropsource recently launched its first product and now has “paying cusomters.”

“Next Level Mobile App Development” is the company’s promise. Dropsource offers a “mobile app development platform for visually creating powerful, data-driven, truly native mobile iOS & Android apps without coding.”

The company says it enables customers “to visually create powerful, data-driven and truly native iOS and Android apps without writing any code. It’s next level.”

“We couldn’t be more excited about the future. To have the support of our existing investors, and new ones, is very validating, and now we raise the bar again, and continue push the boundaries of what’s possible with Dropsource,“ says Dropsource CEO Ben Saren.

“We are entering the era of automation, and software automation is at the core of our mission.”

Saren joined Dropsource as CEO last year.

The company launched in 2014. It reported a $3.1 million in fundraising in November 2015.
