Privately held companies, especially startups, are extremely reluctant to disclose financial information to anyone other than investors. But the annual Inc. 5000 list draws some data into the media spotlight, and this year several N.C. firms disclose remarkable revenue growth. No wonder some of them have landed major investment deals.

Wilmington-based nCino, for example, just this week disclosed a major new round of capital as the cloud banking technology startup prepares to launch a major global expansion.

And nCino disclosed to Inc. that its revenues grew a whopping 1,217 percent year-over-year to $26.1 million.

That was good for No. 361 on the Inc list.

Charlotte-based AvidXchange recently closed another huge deal. This came after the financial technology firm grew revenues more than 265 percent year-over-year to nearly $65 million.

The fastest growing tech firm in the Triangle is Durham-based Adwerx. According to Inc, Adwerx revenues soared more than 2,400 percent to $14.1 million as it continues to grow its advertising and marketing services.

Adwerx achieved the No. 173 spot on the Inc list.

Another Durham-based firm, Smashing Boxes, is red hot as well.

The software developer told Inc its revenues grew more than 270 percent to $.4 million.

Not to overlooked is Triangle-based NetSertive, which closed a big round of financing as 2016 came to a close and just this week made its first acquisition on the West Coast to expand its advertising and marketing services platforms.

Its revenues surged more than 190 percent year-over-year to $57.5 million.

Raleigh’s Bulk TV & Internet, meanwhile, reported 86.2 percent growth to hit $86.3 million.

And the list goes on.
