Entrepreneur Robbie Allen, veteran VC Jason Caplain to co-chair the Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s Tech Venture Conference 2017.

The deadline for startups and emerging companies to apply for the opportunity to present at the event is nearing.

The conference, now in its 33rd year, is set for Sept. 19-20 in Raleigh.

Companies must apply by June 27.

“Each year CED hosts the main gathering of our entrepreneurial community to showcase the region’s top emerging companies, attracting investors and strategic partners from across the U.S.,” said Caplain, who co-founded Bull City Venture Partners. “I’m excited to serve as co-chair of this year’s CED Tech Venture Conference as we facilitate learning and networking to make essential connections for NC entrepreneurs and help accelerate business growth in the state.”

Allen founded Automated Insights where he is now executive chairman.

“I was selected to present Automated Insights at CED Tech Venture in 2011, so I feel honored to co-chair the event this year. It’s a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to get in front of a big group of investors and for investors to see some of the innovation happening in the Southeast,” Allen said. “I’m looking forward to making this the best CED Tech Venture ever.”
