This global workflow tech company has a cloud-based platform for businesses to outsource back-office work they would otherwise have to take on themselves. The system, priced through a subscription model, connects its clients with teams in Nepal or Kenya that manage day-to-day routine tasks, meeting the hours and skill sets companies need for outsourced projects. Archive Social

This civic tech startup preserves social media history while complying with public records release laws. Last year, its social media preservation tool landed The White House as a client, taking tweets, posts and photos shared by former President Obama (and over 100 accounts affiliated with his administration), and redirecting them to an easily searchable post archive site. The company continues to outgrow its office space and add new clients, all with just over $1 million in capital raised. This venture-backed Durham startup has a platform for real estate agents that uses predictive analytics and machine learning to determine who in their network is most likely to buy a home at any given time. It also suggests ways for agents to target them, and integrates with leading real estate technologies to make it easier to do so. This startup builds payment software for merchants, platforms and payment providers, all solutions based on changing business needs. Spreedly moved into a new office in downtown Durham last year after increasing its headcount and growing its 100+ customer base. There, it’s cultivating a flexible and convenient company culture. With a collaboration platform used by sports teams, departments and organizations (including the NCAA) and a new deal with the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Durham startup founded by a former Duke University football player is moving fast. City of Durham Innovation Team

Colloquially known as the “i-team,” a multidisciplinary group of individuals are leveraging skills and tools from design thinking, behavioral science and analytics to solve public challenges within the city of Durham. The Innovation Team brings strategies including quantitative and qualitative research and design-based innovation to policy-making, and is looking for three more people to join the group: a data analyst, a design strategist and an innovation project manager. This marketing firm just moved into Durham’s American Underground in January. It specializes in engaging multicultural and millennial audiences on behalf of its clients, by way of innovative creative campaigns—most recently with major entertainment entities such as Twenty One Pilots, ESPN, Orange is the New Black, and Rick and Morty. Creative Allies is looking for a talented web developer to own the management of its proprietary technology platform. The Durham startup is seeking a senior full stack software engineer to help research, experiment, validate and demonstrate the benefit of new development approaches, while leading and guiding other developers on FoodLogiQ’s engineering team. The beverage startup that got its start in a Duke University dorm room using tea leaves, fruit juice and a kitchen pot, has grown to become one of the fastest-growing brand names in the energy drink brand scene. The five-year-old company has an avid consumer following throughout the southeastern part of the U.S., and is building on that momentum this year as it expands its footprint in even more retail markets. Savii Care

This Raleigh telehealth startup has developed a workflow automation software that in-home healthcare agencies can use to coordinate and communicate with patients and their families. Last year, the Savii Care team raised $1.1 million in seed funding from Cofounders Capital and RTP Capital to help build and scale the company. Vital Plan

This Raleigh startup provides educational tools and herbal supplements for people with Lyme disease and other illnesses affecting the immune system. Last year, Vital Plan quadrupled its revenue and earned a B Corp certification, furthering headway in the online supplement industry and increasing impact in the lives of its customers. To build on its growth, the company is seeking a creative director to manage the brand across its websites, social media channels, email newsletters, banner ads, ebook designs, webinars, videos and other design-related projects. Stealz

Raleigh-based Stealz is a platform that lets businesses to offer rewards to customers in return for promoting their brands through tweets, photos and social media posts. Since its founding in 2012, the startup has acquired avid app users and big-name customers like McDonald’s and Taco Bell, all while growing revenue and team headcount. This year, Stealz is strategizing ways to integrate services into corporate brand apps. This Raleigh software startup is looking to vamp up the size of its team after closing a $20 million series B round late last year, which earned it a spot in 2016’s top five tech deals in North Carolina. This Durham startup provides an avenue by which people can assist physicians with administrative tasks—all virtually. Remote scribes listen to recordings of patient visits and update electronic records with pertinent medical history, physical examination, assessment and plan, findings and procedures. iScribes employs over 200 scribes in 25 states, growing sales 2.5 times in the last year.
