EmployUs, a Triangle startup that has developed a mobile hiring app, has raised another $230,000 in capital.

The backing from three investors was disclosed in a securities filing.

Founder and CEO Ryan O’Donnell explained to WRAL TechWire recently how the app works.

“EmployUs rewards well-connected professionals by connecting employers and job seekers through trusted referrals. Anyone can connect people they trust to awesome jobs and get rewarded up to $10,000 when their referral gets hired,” he said..

“From fast-growing start-ups like ArchiveSocial to global companies like Citrix, EmployUs offers employers with unprecedented access to quality applicants, simply post your jobs and start hiring more referrals.”

EmployUs points out that “recruiting is expensive, time-consuming, and competitive as employers large and small try to win the war for talent” and that the company helps “employers hire more referrals and reduce their dependency on low-performing job boards and expensive recruiting firms.”

How’s the app work?

“Job seekers can swipe-through hundreds of open jobs in your area and get recommended by someone you know. Getting someone to vouch for you on EmployUs is 50X more effective at getting you hired than applying on traditional job boards,” O’Donnel said.

According to previously filed Form Ds, the EmployUs raised $50,000 and $499,000 in in October and August 2016, respectively. It was founded in 2014.

O’Donnell graduated from N.C. State University in 2015 with a degree in entrepreneurship and is a high school graduate of the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics.

Co-founder and chairman Jeff Stocks previously owned and led the Manpower staffing office in Raleigh.
