WRAL TechWire is publishing a series of profile Q&As about the 90-plus startup and entrepreneurial companies that will be presenting at the CED Tech Conference on Sept. 13-14 in Raleigh. And this is an impressive group, based on our review of the information submitted so far.

The list of investment funds attending the event is over 50. Their representatives shouldn’t be bored.

As of Thursday afternoon, WRAL TechWire has published 16 profiles in partnership with the CED. These range from Internet of Things to super-fast WiFi to fighting Alzheimer’s to helping better organize your life as a family.

There’s a startup fighting smoking and another wanting to help you invest more wisely.

How about putting artificial intelligence to work for your firm? Or fighting wastewater from energy production?

What about finding the right employee – and, for the job seeker, finding a company you know you will like before you take a job?

Many more startup Q&As are in WTW’s publishing pipeline. We’ll be averaging several a day up to Tech Venture.

(The firms profiled so far are listed with this post.)

The CED will be offering investors a chance to learn about these companies through a Demo Room as well as on-stage presentations from 14 in a “Showcase” and another 12 in a “Lightning Round.”

“Diverse” group

“This year’s diverse attendance is a testament to the growing investment interest in our region as an emerging hub for entrepreneurship with attractive, promising companies. In addition to funds based in North Carolina, investors are traveling from 14 other states–as far away as California and Massachusetts,” said Dhruv Patel, CED’s Director of Investor Relations, in touting the attendees.

“As part of our Connections to Capital program, I personally work with the investors in advance of the conference to make sure they will meet the companies that best fit their individual investment criteria, from specific sub-sector to company stage. At past CED Tech Venture Conferences, multiple successful connections between investors and entrepreneurs have led to millions of dollars in funding for startups. This year we will continue to play matchmaker and help secure funding for our most-promising companies.”
