News just in: Another executive is leaving the Research Triangle Regional Partnership.

Writes Bo Carson, vice president of business development:

“It has been a pleasure serving the Research Triangle Region and its citizens for nearly 18 years in regional economic development. I tendered my resignation effective June 30.”

Carson follows the exit of CEO Charles Hayes, who retired as of June 30, and Chief Operating Officer Lee Anne Nance. She left to launch her own consulting firm.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with so many dedicated colleagues and partners with my employment at the Research Triangle Regional Partnership (RTRP),” Carson noted in the email sent to The Skinny,

“I want to personally thank you for your coverage of our region over the years. I will always cherish my time here and the wealth of experiences gained from working here. I will surely carry forward the information bestowed upon me as I move forward in my career.”

Carson has already found a new job, he adds.

“Going forward, my future in economic development will continue. I have accepted a position as the new Existing Industry Coordinator with Franklin County Economic Development that will allow me the opportunity to advance my growth and development and apply my knowledge to serve and promote economic development within the Research Triangle Region.

“I’m excited about this opportunity and look forward to continuing the regional collaboration that is so important in economic development. I look forward to working with you in my new role as we cross paths.

“Furthermore, I look forward to continuing to work with RTRP as it transitions in the future.”

Under new Chair John Kane, the regional partnership is writing a new strategic plan as well as searching for a new CEO.
