Bivarus, a startup focusing on healthcare analytics, has closed on a $2 million round of financing and is looking to hire 10 people. The round was “oversubscribed,” the company says, and Hatteras Ventures is among the new backers.
Just a year ago, Bivarus raised $1.9 million. The company offers patented, real-time analytics technology.
“As a new investor in Bivarus, we have tremendous confidence in their continued growth,” said John Crumpler, General Partner of Hatteras Venture Partners. “Healthcare organizations must become more responsive to the patient experience in order to thrive as the industry shifts towards value-based medicine. We look forward to working with the Bivarus team as they scale their platform and services to meet a rapidly emerging and vital market opportunity.”
The company recently landed RelyMD as a partner, working with the telemedicine services provider to provide its data services as part of a measurement platform.
Bivarus continues to attract investors from the Triangle but this time also landed backing from Tennessee and Boston.
Existing investor Excelerate Health Ventures and Hatteras led the round.
NueCura Partners of Nashville and Boston Millennia Partners of Boston also participated as did RTP investors,
“At NueCura Partners, our goal is to identify and invest in those companies that are poised to transform healthcare,” said Don Lazas, an MD who is founder and Managing Partner of NueCura Partners. “That’s the exact promise we see in Bivarus. Value in healthcare will, increasingly, be linked to the patient experience. Bivarus’s proprietary technology will allow institutions to identify opportunities to improve the patient experience early on and make needed changes more efficiently, thus enhancing care delivery.”
The company continues to grow, adding a variety of customers over the past year, including:
- Covenant Surgical Partners
- IVF New England
- Johns Hopkins Hospital
- Texas Oncology
To support continued growth, Bivarus is looking to hire people in sales, marketing and product engineering.
