Epic’s new game Paragon going on sale March 14

Epic Games’ newest title, Paragon, goes on sale March 14. It’s a multiplayer online battle arena, or MOBA, title.

And one early player at Facebook likes it.

“You guys are doing some pretty amazing things with the game thus far and i am excited to see what else you guys have to offer,” the poster wrote. “Thank you everyone at Paragon for the hard work and the wonderful game.”

Added another: “[W}as too much fun can’t wait to play again and check out more of the heroes.”

So what’s Paragon all about?

“Paragon is an upcoming third-person science fiction MOBA where players assume the role of a hero and fight for supremacy of the battlefield using abilities and teamwork,” says gaming web site MMO.com.” Engage in 5v5 matches on a classic three-lane map brimming with NPC units and heroes clashing for supremacy. Choose your hero, equipped with distinct abilities and a corresponding play style. Work with teammates to strategically defeat opponents, coordinating sneak attacks and defending onslaughts. Paragon features traditional MOBA elements such as towers and jungles as well, offering familiar gameplay in a new setting. But Paragon also features card collection, allowing players to build decks that determine their choices in combat.”

Epic, which is based in Cary, will first offer what it’s calling “Founder’s Packs.”

“Early Access” for the title begins March 18.

Founder’s Packs for Epic Games’ upcoming MOBA Paragon will go on sale on March 14, with Early Access starting a few days later on March 18.

Founder’s Pack buyers will be able to carry progress over to the full game when it becomes available.

A free “Open Beta” is coming this summer.

“Paragon is the MOBA from Epic Games that puts you in the fight with explosive action, direct third-person control, and deep strategic choice,” Epic says.

“The game is designed so that all players can compete and win without ever having to spend money. All Heroes are free, and cards can only be earned by playing the game.”

Founder’s Packs, which are $20, include the game plus skins, boosts and more.

Also available will be Challenger Packs at $60 and Master Packages at $100, which include additional features.

Paragon will be available for PlayStation 4 and on PCs.
