Venture preview nears sellout; 2 more speakers join lineup

If you want to attend the annual venture capital preview event put on by Bull City Venture Partners, you’d best register soon. It’s nearing a sellout.

2015 is shaping up as the second best year ever for venture financing in North Carolina, as WRAL TechWire has reported. And December is wrapping up as a big month.But what’s in the forecast for 2016? With Wall Street stumbling and IPOs lagging, will investors still be ready to put money into startups and emerging firms?

BCVP sent out an email Wednesday noting that fewer than 50 tickets remain.

Look for well over 300 people to pack the venue at the Brier Creek Clubhouse in Raleigh on Jan. 19.

BCVP has lined up nine venture-savvy people to headline the program. That’s two more than when the original program was announced.

New speakers include:

Bob Smith, Venture Partner, JMI Equity
Brendan Wales, Vice President, e.Ventures

Setting the stage will be North Carolina State Treasurer Janet Cowell.

Plus, the event brings in attendees and speakers with plenty of knowledge about what’s happening in Silicon Valley as well as northeastern venture markets.

Bull City’s Jason Caplain and David Jones always put on an insightful program (panels and keynotes).
