Honda Aircraft on Wednesday delivered its first HondaJet to an unidentified customer – just in time for Christmas. Having received FAA certification earlier this month, the Greensboro-based company quickly cashed in.

HondaJets have been under construction since 2012.

“We are very excited to commence deliveries of the HondaJet, fulfilling Honda’s commitment to advancing human mobility through innovation,” said Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino in a statement.

“Honda Aircraft has now extended this commitment skyward with the delivery of our first aircraft, and I hope we soon will begin to see many HondaJets at airports around the world.”

In addition to manufacturing, Honda Aircraft also offers pilot training at a training center in Greensboro.

A 90,000 square-foot service center also is available in Greensboro, augmenting a dealer network that stretches across 11 countries and territories.
