Durham based game development studio Third Track is announced the release of its local cooperative multiplayer dungeon adventure, Couch Heroes vs The Dungeon for the App Store on Apple’s new Apple TV and tvOS last week. The game features between one and four players actively cooperating and same-screen multiplayer options. In addition to the Siri remote, the game offers support for its companion app, Couch Control, which allows phones and tablets to become controllers.

The company announced the news on their brand new Twitter account on October 27.

“The goal was to bring the old-school arcade cooperative gaming experience to the Apple TV,” says Ty Christopher of Third Track in a statement. “We see the living room as the present day arcade. Couch Heroes allows friends and family of all ages to use their phone or tablet as a controller. They can just scan a code on the screen and jump right into the game. Their device becomes the controller.”

Players take control of of one of four heroes as they adventure deeper into the dungeon facing stronger monsters through endless levels of monster mashing mayhem.

Couch Heroes vs The Dungeon will be on sale in the tvOS App Store for $0.99 on sale from $4.99, and is rated 9+.
