Fidelity Investments plans an $8 million expansion that will bring 600 jobs to Durham, mostly software and engineering positions paying upwards of $100,000. North Carolina has approved a Jobs Development Incentives Grant (JDIG) that could be worth up to $15 million to the company.

The Boston-based company has 4,200 employees in North Carolina, most in its Research Triangle Park location.

The company is also leasing back the 116, 300 square feet of space in Danbury Hall, Durham, which it left in 2013.

Its North Carolina employees work for its technology group and its Workplace Investment Group service call center.
