Citrix, the virtualization software company with its ShareFile division headquartered in Raleigh, saw its shares trade up about 7 percent by market close Wednesday. The company reported earnings that topped analyst forecasts and named an interim CEO.

Citrix reported third quarter earnings of $56 million or 35 cents a share on $843 million in revenue. Non-GAAP earnings for the quarter were $1.04 a share. Analysts expected $1 a share.

Bob Calderoni, executive chair, will take the helm as interim CEO as Mark Templeton steps down. He announced his retirement in July.

ShareFile saw its subscriptions up about 40 percent, reports say. The company employees about 600 people in Raleigh.
