SAS, the world’s largest privately held software company, earned another accolade for employee satisfaction Tuesday, this time from “Great Place to Work,” a global research, consulting and training firm with clients in 45 countries.

The honor is the latest for Cary-based SAS, which is a regular on the Fortune magazine “Best Places to Work” list and has offices around the world. Of nearly 14,000 workers, some 5,200 are based in Cary and 6,588 overall across the U.S.

“Great Place to Work” listed 25 multi-national companies where they said employees found a sense of family and fun.

Employees also “care deeply about what might be considered workplace basics: proper resources and equipment for the job, a physically safe environment, and the ability to take time off when necessary,” Great Place to Work wrote.
