Durham’s ndustrial.io, previously Sustainable Industrial Solutions, which is developing software and analytics to increase energy efficiency, has raised $1.4 million in equity from 15 investors, according to a regulatory filing.

The company combines sensor technology with data analysis to offer better insight and control to energy management.

On the Careers section of its website, the company states: “We’re achieving significant energy intensity reductions and financial gains in industries such as the cold chain.”

It goes on to explains: “we’ve built a real-time ingestion and API platform to ingest and expose all kinds of sensor data ranging from electrical meters, accelerometers, temperature sensors and more. We also integrate with third-party ERP systems parsing both big and small data for advanced analytics, dashboarding and production normalized operations.”

The company is opening a San Francisco office and rather casually mentions that among its accomplishments, “We help predict squid landings on the coast of California.”
