Padmasree Warrior, the former chief strategy and technology officer at Cisco, has stepped aside as one of the keynote speakers at the upcoming CED Tech Venture conference. She recently left Cisco, and another Cisco exec will replace her at the Raleigh event.

Speaking instead will be Rebacca Jacoby, Cisco’s senior vice president of operations.

WTW recently asked the Council for Entrepreneurial development if Warrior would still be speaking, given her exit from Cisco.

The CED early Thursday forwarded me a statement from Cisco.

“Padmasree Warrior is a highly respected leader who most recently served as Cisco’s Chief Strategy and Technology Officer. In June, it was announced that Padma would be leaving Cisco.

“Given this transition, Padma thought it was best to step aside from her role as keynote speaker for the upcoming CED Tech Venture Conference.

“A frequent visitor to North Carolina, our SVP of Operations, Rebecca Jacoby has gladly accepted the engagement. Rebecca was most recently Cisco’s Chief Information Officer, but now oversees our global supply chain, global business services, security and trust, and IT organizations. Cisco is a long time community partner of CED, and the proud Headline Sponsor of this year’s Tech Venture Conference.”

The conference is set for Sept. 15-16 in Raleigh.
