Adzerk used to be your run-of-the-mill online advertising network, serving up traditional banner and sidebar ads and helping publishers and bloggers make money off their content. But kicking off with its highest profile customer to date, Reddit, Adzerk has created a new platform to allow publishers to integrate native advertising and sponsored content into their sites, readying itself for the newest generation of online and mobile advertising. 

Founder and lead developer James Avery recently took time to talk with Founders Series Co-Host Will Hardison and I about how he stumbled into running an ad network, the evolution of his company since then (including the recent pivot) and its growth in downtown Durham along the way.
