The Council for Entrepreneurial development puts on its annual venture capital conference in Raleigh today and Wednesday. The “stars” will be nearly 80 startups, including 18 that will be showcased specifically for investors. Another 60 will be vying for attention in the “Demo Room.”

Some 600 people, including about 100 out-of-state investors, are expected to attend the CED Tech Venture at the Raleigh Convention Center.

“There are so many great companies being featured this year that we’ve actually had to reconfigure the showroom to accommodate them all,” said Jay Bigelow, the CED’s director of entrepreneurship. “It’s a testament to the explosion of talent in the entrepreneurial sector.”

The “showcase” presenters, each of which will receive 6 minutes of stage time to make their case for investment, are:
