If fast-growing Bronto Software is contemplating going public, it has just added some executive firepower with experience in pulling off an IPO.

On Tuesday, Durham-based Bronto announced the hiring of Scott Alridge as vice president and general counsel.

Just a year ago, Alridge was part of the legal team at ChannelAdvisor, which went public. Alridge served as general counsel and vice president of new and emerging markets at ChannelAdvisor.

Bronto pointed out in the announcement that “Alridge played a key leadership role in establishing a legal function, scaling operations, acquiring companies, raising capital, expanding international presence and ultimately taking the company public on the New York Stock Exchange. Alridge brings both valuable operating experience and a deep understanding of the marketing and commerce markets.”

In a statement, Chaz Felix, chief operating officer of Bronto, noted:  ”His operating experience and industry relationships will be leveraged as Bronto expands globally and further into the enterprise market.”

Alridge will lead “legal and business operations,” Bronto pointed out.

“Bronto’s high revenue growth, global expansion plans and sustained profitability make it an attractive cloud company poised for long term success,” Alridge said in a statement. “I look forward to joining the leadership team and contributing to the future growth of Bronto.”

In February, Bronto expanded its operations to Australia.

The company also has consistently reported strong revenue growth and increases in hiring.
