With a host of well-known speakers and an extensive programmers about the latest trends in the video game industry, the East Coast Game Conference returns to Raleigh on April 23-24 at the Raleigh Convention Center.

Final day for regular pass registration is April 8.

The Triangle Game Initiative is putting on the sixth annual event along with the International Game Developers Association (IGDA).

The largest gathering of video game professionals on the East Coast, ECGC strives to provide video game professionals, academics and the overall industry with a program and opportunities for networking and collaboration. Because the conference is volunteer-led, ECGC is able to offer attendees a top-quality event with access to renowned industry leaders for a more affordable rate than comparable national events.

The Triangle area is home to more than 40 leading game companies, including several ECGC sponsors including Epic Games, Ubisoft, Red Storm and Insomniac Games. This year’s attendance is expected to exceed last year’s mark of 1,300 participants.

Confirmed 2014 keynote speakers include Ken Rolston, director of design for Turbine and Warner Brothers, and Mary DeMarle, executive narrative director at Eidos Montreal.

DeMarle has worked in the game industry as a freelance contract writer and full-time narrative game designer and writer for more than 15 years. Her work crosses numerous genres and play styles, and includes such winning titles as Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Homeworld II, Myst III: Exile, Myst IV: Revelation, Dungeon Siege: Broken Sword, and the Splinter Cell license. Rolston is an award-winning game designer and industry veteran from the Boston area who serves as design director for Turbine.

“We look forward to bringing together the industry’s top professionals and organizations for truly invaluable networking and learning opportunities for the sixth year,” said Walter Rotenberry, ECGC co-director and Triangle Game Initiative co-president. “The Triangle area is home to more than 40 leading game developing and publishing companies, making this conference a great opportunity for industry individuals to discuss trends and innovative growth in the region.”

Formerly known as the Triangle Game Conference, ECGC has become the leading annual East Coast forum for game industry professionals to share expertise, network, and build careers.

ECGC works in partnership with the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), an international nonprofit trade association of video game developers; and the Triangle Game Initiative, a North Carolina non-profit trade association of video game companies.
