RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – The Southeast Venture Conference, which is set for May 6-7 in Atlanta, is now reviewing companies who want to present to potential investors.

Scott Hedrick, executive director of the event, writes:

“The Southeast Venture Conference, taking place this year at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta on May 6-7th, is currently seeking the best high-growth technology companies from the Southeast & Mid-Atlantic regions to highlight as presenters at this year’s conference.

“As an alumni of the event and key member of the region’s technology and investment community, if you are involved with or aware of companies that our selection committee should consider as presenters, please alert us. “SEVC will feature over 50 high-growth presenting companines from the Southeast & Mid-Atlantic regions, ranging from highly attractive early-stage firms to later-stage, pre-IPO firms. As a reference point, the average presenter has around $6M in revenue and has raised approximately $6M to-date.

“The opportunity is to highlight their company to an audience of 600+ consisting national venture capital and investment funds, investment bankers and other from the technology economy.”

  • Startup Grind’s Next Event

DURHAM – Don Rainey of Grotech Ventures is the next guest at StartupGrind.

“Don will speak about new and exciting trends that he is interested in investing in and other opportunities that startups should look at as they continue to grow,” writes Deepak Gopalakrishna, who leads the local Startup grind effort on April 3.

Steve Malik, who recently reacquired Medfusion from Intuit, spoke at Startup Grind’s most recent event.

Rainey is a general partner at Grotech Ventures. He currently serves on the boards of Grotech portfolio companies Clarabridge, GramercyOne, HelloWallet, LivingSocial, Personal, SnappCloud, and Zenoss. He also at one time worked for Durham-based Intersouth Partners.
