HQ Raleigh, which offers shared office space and support facilities to new and emerging companies, is now planning to offer “pop-up” co-working space in a historic downtown capital building.

The venture, which is planning new space in the Warehouse District beyond its original location on Hillsborough Street, announced Monday that the temporary “pop-up” space will be made available in the Capital Club Building at 16 West Martin Street.

And it’s a scenic spot as well, offering quite a view of downtown.

The space will be located in the restored “Grand Ballroom” on the top floor.

HQ Raleigh is working in partnership with Historic Ventures LLC.

“HQ Raleigh is excited to offer a creative solution that will provide our members additional workspace while we complete renovations at our new building,” said Liz Tracy, community manager for HQ Raleigh. “The Grand Ballroom is a unique and beautiful location and we are fortunate to partner with the Historic Ventures LLC to maximize available space in downtown Raleigh in an innovative way.”

The space includes two meeting rooms, a kitchen – and lots of natural light.

HQ Raleigh plans to offer high-speed Internet, new furniture and other services.

The Grand Ballroom will continue to be available as an entertainment venue.

HQ Raleigh says the Capital building space will be made available to current HQ Raleigh members and to firms that register to move into the Warehouse District space when it becomes available.
