N.C. State’s Entrepreneurship Initiative is getting a financial boost and will be expanding its offerings as a result.

Andy Albright, a Triad entrepreneur and business executive who is an N.C. State graduate, is donating $500,000 to the NCSU Entrepreneurship Initiative. The gift is being formally announced Monday afternoon.

Aly Khalifa, founder of Gamil Design, is speaking at 3 p.m. at the James B. Hunt Library as part of the Entrepreneurship Initiative’s lecture series. The Albright gift will be formally disclosed at that time as well.

The gift, which will be spread out over five years, will be used to create the Entrepreneurs Living Learning Village, which NCSU says is the “first of its kind.”

Albright and his wife Jane are making the donation. Albright is co-founder and CEO of Triad-based National Agents Alliance.

According to NCSU, the Living Learning Village will offer students “across all academic disciplines the opportunity to live, learn, and work with entrepreneurial-minded students.”

NCSU’s Entrepreneurship Initiative already bincludes the “Garage,” which is space set aside for business creation and development of products.

“We both have a heart for helping kids in many areas and this is just another way that we can express our commitment to future generations,” Albright said in a statement. “From childhood to today, we have both been big fans of N.C. State and this is one way we can continue to show our loyalty to the Wolfpack.”

National Agents Alliance is an insurance marketing organization.

“Andy truly understands what it means to translate dreams into reality through innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Tom Miller, senior vice provost for academic outreach and entrepreneurship at NCSU. “Through this generous gift, he and Jane will be helping to make this possible for hundreds of N.C. State students.”
