FailCon, a one day conference to help technology entrepreneurs, investors and others study their own failures and learn from the failures of others, is coming to Charlotte.

“It’s about embracing failure as a real learning opportunity for future success,” says Terry Cox, president of the Charlotte Business Innovation and Growth Council, which is helping put on the event.

The University of North Carolina Charlotte will host FailCon on Oct. 8 in the the Energy Production and Infrastructure Center. FailCon was started in 2009 by Cassandra Phillipps in San Francisco, an event planner for startup events and Diane Loviglio, a founder of a cleantech startup. The conference has since traveled around the world with stops in more than a dozen countries.

Charlotte will be the first U.S. city besides San Francisco to host FailCon. To register or for more information, go here.
