SciQuest, a Cary-based provider of e-procurement services to clients worldwide, is moving its headquarters to a new office building in Morrisville next year.

The reason is company growth, according to a company spokesperson.

” SciQuest has experienced rapid, consistent growth over the last few years,” Michelle Perkins, Public Relations & Industry Analyst Relations for SciQuest, told WRALtechWire.

“Quite simply,” she added,  ”we are outgrowing our current location.”

SciQuest currently approximately 61,000 square feet of office space and has signed on for much more.

The company has 251 employees in Cary and 472 worldwide, according to Perkins, and growth continues.

“SciQuest currently has a number of positions open,” Perkins said.

Duke Realty announced the move Monday.

The company said SciQuest (Nasdaq: SQI) had signed a lease for 78,565 square feet and will occupy the first and second floor of its Perimeter Two structure.

Perimeter Two will include 206,409 square feet of Class A office space. It currently is under construction. It is already 91 percent leased.

“As SciQuest has continued to experience rapid, consistent growth we are quickly outgrowing our current headquarters’ location in Cary,” said Rudy Howard, SciQuest’s Chief Financial Officer. “We are looking forward to our move in 2014 and to being able to provide our North Carolina employees with a new, larger facility that will not only accommodate our current needs, but also allow us to continue to expand.”

SciQuest was a previous tenant of Duke Realty at its Cary location. Duke Realty sold that building in 2012.

Other tenants at the new building include Fujifilm Medical Systems and MaxPoint Interactive.
