Marketing and Internet technology firm Red Ventures broke ground for a new, feature-packed 180,000 square foot building at its Rock Hills, S.C. campus on Thursday with S.C. Governor Nikki Haley in attendance.

And the privately held firm reiterated plans announced last fall to hire an additional 1,000 people over the next several years to accommodate that growth. It already employs more than 1,600.

Some 400 people will be hired over the next three months, company executives said.

When the new building opens om 2014, it will include a six-lane bowling alley as well as a beer garden, yoga studio, food court, cycling room plus an amphitheater for live music.

“When it comes to our campus, the mission is simple: to create a great workplace for the absolute best people,” said CEO Ric Elias . “We started this company in a basement, so today’s celebration is surreal. We’ve been able to attract and keep top talent because people love coming to work here each day. This expansion and the amenities included will enable us to continue providing our employees with a great place to work.”

Red Ventures’ campus already offers an indoor basketball court, a walking and running track, fitness center, putting green and a cafe offer subsidized meals.
