There’s a new series of awards recognizing advances and innovations in applying technology to the health care system and organizers are calling for nominations.

The Health IT Innovation Awards will recognize “outstanding applications of technology and unique approaches to improve the quality and efficiency of health care delivery within the United States.” The Health IT Innovation Awards are sponsored by Intel and the North Carolina Healthcare Information & Communications Alliance (NCHICA).

Nominees are sought in three categories: information technology, informatics/analytics and consumer engagement. Nominations are due March 15. Three finalists in each category will be selected. The nine finalists will be notified on March 29. Finalists will be recognized during a ceremony on May 7. To make a nomination or for more information, go to NCHICA’s website, www.nchica.org.
