RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Overture announced on Tuesday that SARENET has selected its 4000 and 400 platforms as the cornerstone of a new deployment that will offer customers up to 20Mbps services (with capabilities up to 60Mbps) using Overture’s Ethernet-over-copper (EoC) solutions.

This agreement marks another milestone for the Spanish Internet provider that has been first-to-market with numerous technology advancements and premium business services since its inception in 1987.

According to the company, SARENET selected Overture based on its ability to provide a robust solution that will extend rate and reach beyond its competitors, exclusive service management capabilities – including zero-touch provisioning – and extensive quality of service controls. This allows SARENET to rapidly deploy a competitive Ethernet offering utilizing local loop unbundling with increased service speeds and reach while improving overall quality and reliability.

Overture’s EoC solution enables high-speed Carrier Ethernet services over existing copper infrastructure.

The Overture 400 demarcation device enables service providers and network operators to deliver feature-rich business broadband services to the last-mile, while the 4000 pay-as-you-grow aggregation platform delivers centralized management and switching for up to 120 of the Overture 400s.

Together, the solution delivers from 1Mbps to nearly 100Mbps of symmetrical Ethernet services to each customer over bonded copper and helps service providers like SARENET turn-up new services quickly with the tools to manage SLAs and deliver premium Quality of Service (QoS) options.

“It is always a privilege to announce a new customer, but even more so when they share our passion and focus for putting customers first,” said Mike Aquino, Overture president and CEO. “We welcome the opportunity to continue working with SARENET to enable differentiated next-generation services for their customers.”

Overture is the preferred Carrier Ethernet edge and aggregation partner to more than 450 service providers and network operators worldwide. Overture is headquartered in Research Triangle Park.
