CARY, N.C. – I don’t know if you have heard about this, but the IdeaSlam is an opportunity to capture the innovative spark of a new idea for a business and put it into a form that can be communicated to and evaluated by other people.

The IdeaSlam is an opportunity to capture the innovative spark of a new idea for a business and put it into a form that can be communicated to and evaluated by other people. In order to keep this simple, each entrepreneur needs to prepare themselves for the IdeaSlam by creating a three minute presentation of their idea for a new business.

An easy way to get ready is to prepare the presentation based on the answers to the following five questions:

  • What is the opportunity (premise)?
  • What are you offering (solution)?
  • Who will buy it (market)?
  • Why will I win (Advantage)?
  • How do I make money (Business)?

During this session, participants will see how an idea is presented by actually practicing it. They will get feedback from the other students as well as the facilitator and the business mentors in attendance.

This is a lot of fun and is actually a rewarding experience. It doesn’t take a lot of work and you get a chance to get some honest and helpful feedback on something that you may not have shared with others.

The IdeaSlam is the gate to entry into our Ideation program, where you will be able to form your raw idea into a disciplined statement from which you can make an assessment and a decision about whether or not to proceed with your idea to the first steps of business conceptualization. Go to our EventBrite invitation and select the date for your Ideation session and we will send you the materials that will start you down the path of our “Six Steps to Success” program.

IdeaSlams will be held on the following dates:

  • May 16, 6 pm – 7:30 pm
  • May 30, 6 pm – 7:30 pm
  • June 13, 6 pm – 7:30 pm
