Patheon, a global contract drug manufacturer, is looking for a new chief executive officer.
The RTP-based firm said Wednesday that Wesley Wheeler had been replaced and that a search was underway for a replacement.
“We want to thank Wes for his contributions to establishing Patheon as a leading provider of contract development and manufacturing services to the global pharmaceutical industry,” Chairman Ramsey Frank said in a statement.
“Patheon has become a financially strong company and demonstrates solid performance. Now,the Board of Directors feels that the company has reached a stage where new Leadership is required to help Patheon realize its full potential as an industry leader.”
Peter Bigelow, Patheon’s president for North America, will serve as interim CEO.
